YouFirst was not built from a training methodology. It was built from twenty-five years of standing in rooms — in four languages, across a dozen markets — watching what makes buyers commit, and what makes them quietly disengage. Everything we teach, we learned by doing.
The gap between what companies know and what buyers need is expensive — and invisible.
Most organisations do not have a sales problem. They have a translation problem. They know their product intimately. They know their market broadly. What they do not know is what is happening in the mind of the person across the table — what that person is actually weighing, what they are afraid of, what would let them say yes without risk.
That gap costs money continuously and silently. It shows up as long sales cycles, stalled opportunities, discounting, and deals lost to competitors with worse products but better understanding. Almost nobody measures it,because it does not appear on any dashboard.
YouFirst exists to close that gap. Not by teaching techniques, but by rebuilding how commercial teams see the people they sell to. The name is the philosophy: understand the other person first.Everything commercially useful follows from that.
A practitioner first.
A consultant second.

YouFirst is led by its founder, and that matters commercially. Clients are not handed to an associate after the sale. The person who diagnoses the problem is the person who delivers the work.
Over twenty-five years, the founder has worked with sales forces inside multinational organisations and with owner-led businesses of eight or ten people. That range is deliberate and unusual. It means the frameworks YouFirst uses have been pressure-tested in boardrooms with formal procurement processes and in rooms where the buyer is the owner and the decision is emotional.
The work has always been international. Programmes have been designed and delivered in English, French, Italian and Arabic — not translated, but built natively in each language. That capability sits at the centre of what YouFirst offers, because commercial understanding does not survive translation intact.

This will be built into the timeline component below.
[Placeholder — describe the front-line commercial role that formed the
foundation of the practice. What was sold, to whom, in which markets,
and what was learned about buyer behaviour.]
[Placeholder — describe leadership responsibility: team size, territories
managed, commercial results achieved, and the shift from selling personally
to building others’ capability.]
[Placeholder — describe cross-border commercial work. Which markets,
which languages, what cultural differences proved commercially decisive.]
Advising growth-stage and international organisations on commercial
intelligence — the discipline of building revenue on genuine buyer
understanding rather than persuasion mechanics.
Buyers commissioning senior commercial work are entitled to know what the judgment they are buying is built on.
This section will display formal credentials in the four-cell grid used elsewhere on the site. Please supply any of the following that apply:
If none of these exist in formal terms, that is not a problem —
we will reframe this section around demonstrated commercial experience instead,
which for a practitioner-led firm is often more persuasive. But we need to know
either way before launch.
These are not values in the decorative sense. Each one changes how we run an engagement, and each one costs us business from clients who want something else.
We do not arrive with answers. We arrive with questions. Every engagement begins with a diagnostic, because the wrong solution delivered brilliantly is still the wrong solution. If a prospective client wants us to skip straight to delivery, we will usually decline the work.
The buyer is a person before they are a prospect. We build commercial relationships on genuine understanding — not manipulation, not persuasion mechanics, not manufactured rapport. But we are not naive about this. Understanding that does not convert is just conversation. We hold both standards simultaneously.
What signals competence in London can read as arrogance elsewhere. What closes a deal in Milan can confuse a buyer in Paris. Most firms treat this as sensitivity training. We treat it as competitive advantage — one that very few competitors have even picked up.
We do not believe in pipeline inflation, activity metrics, or the illusion of busyness. We believe in fewer, better conversations — pursued with a complete understanding of why this specific buyer, at this specific moment, should choose you.
We do not measure success by how many people attended a programme. We measure it by what the organisation looks like a year later. Every engagement is designed for permanence rather than inspiration — which is why we build in follow-up rather than delivering and departing.
Commercial thinking does not survive translation intact. Nuance is where trust is built, and nuance is the first thing lost when a programme is run in a second language. We deliver natively.
UK, Ireland and international business English. Full programme delivery and written materials.
France, Belgium, Switzerland and francophone markets. Full programme delivery.
Italian market commercial culture and relationship-led buying dynamics.
Gulf and wider MENA markets, including protocol and relationship-building convention.
Please confirm the delivery level for each language — specifically whether each supports full programme delivery, written materials, or conversational business use only. Overstating capability here creates significant risk if a client books a programme in a language and expectations are not met. We will adjust the copy in each cell to match exactly what is offered.
Larger firms sell with their partners and deliver with their juniors. Here, the person who diagnoses your commercial situation is the person standing in the room with your team. That constrains how many clients we can take. It also means nothing is lost in handover.
Most providers will deliver whatever programme you ask for. We start by establishing whether the problem you have described is the problem you actually have. It frequently is not — and getting that wrong is the most expensive mistake in this category.
For organisations operating across borders, cross-cultural commercial fluency is not an additional module. It is embedded in how every framework is constructed, in whichever of our four languages the work is delivered.
Understanding who we are is useful. Understanding our method is what tells you whether we can solve your specific problem.
